Description

Oregon, Whitehorse Falls Campground Umpqua National Forest.  The campground s easily accessible from Highway-138.

Located 67 miles east of Roseburg on State Highway 138, turn north off Highway 138 at the Whitehorse Falls Campground Sign.

Whitehorse Falls Campground, Umpqua National Forest.  This is a seasional campground being open from mid April through October.  The campground has just 5 RV or tent camp spots.  Campbase recommends RV's less than 30 feet.  The campground is located in a Douglas fir forest with most camp spots having plenty of shade.  The campground is located on the Clearwater River in the North Umpqua Wild and Scenic River canyon.  RV's up to 25 feet can be accommodated.  Big rigs will not fit.  Pets are allowed.  The nearest services are in Diamond Lake where you will find a pizza restaurant and gas station.  

The campground does not have drinking water so a life straw might be good for drinking from the river.  Here is a link to some straws on Amazon.  There is also no garbage disposal so, pack it in, pack it out.  

This campground does have mosquitoes.  Depending on the time of year, they can be quite a nuisance.  Campbase recommends a mosquito mesh hat, insect repellent, and a mosquito net awning to sit in.  If mosquitoes bother you, these items are essential for this location.
