Description

California, Stagecoach Trails RV Resort is located approximately 20 miles east of Julian.

Directions:

From the intersection of highway 78 and the Great Southern Overland Stage,Route(S2), proceed south on the S2 for approximately three(3) miles.  The campground entrance will be on the right side of the highway.

Comment

Stagecoach Trails RV Resort is open all year with 287 cabins, tenting, and RV camp spots.  A camp stre, full hookups, market, clubhouse, and horse corrals are all available at this location.  Fuel is not available in the area near the campground.  Fill up before you enter this remote area.  The resort is located in the high desert bordering the Anza Boreggo Desert State Park.  The campground is in a wilderness area.  The historic town of Julian is approximately 20 miles away.  There is no cell service. 

Campbase found the owners and staff to be very friendly.  We especially liked the breakfast sandwich served at the restaurant.   Good people, we are looking forward to a return trip.  

Local Recreation:

The resort has horse corrals and is popular for HorsebackIng into Anza Borrego Desert State Park.  Vehicle off-roading is not allowed in the state park.

The small historic town of Julian is located approximately 20 miles from the campground.  Julian has lots of great restaurants and bakeries.  The town has become known for its apple pie.  Note that Highway 78 up the Banner Grade to Julian has a vehicle length limit of 30 feet.  It's best not to drive your RV there. 

Please note that Campbase visited the resort during the winter months when all the leaves were off the trees.
