Description

California, South Carlsbad State Beach is located 50 miles north of San Diego.  

Located on the ocean side of Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) a short distance from the I-5 freeway.  At the freeway and Poinsettia Ln can be found several restaurants including Benihana and Subway.  There are also hotels and gas stations all within a short walk from the park entrance.  The park is located on the bluffs above the beach.  There are stairs that lead down to the beach from the bluffs.  The beach is very nice and clean.  It's a long shallow beach so it should be OK for all ages.

South Carlsbad State Beach campground is open all year with 223 RV and tent camp spots.  RV's up to 35 feet are allowed, no big rigs.  Paved camp spots are not available.  Spots have crushed rock and gravel.  Full hookups are available including cable and septic.  However, many camp spots are dry (no power, no water, no ceptic).  The camp store had just about every item you could need while camping.  The campground has a very relaxed atmosphere.  Full hookups are available at sites 131-135 and 214-222.  They cost a bit more.

Lego Land theme park is located a short drive from the campground.

There are several golf courses in the area.
