The campground is approximately two miles north of Mission Bay and approximately six miles from the Pacific Ocean.  There's plenty of shade and trees along with wide camp spots.  Several green belts are inside the park.  Pets are OK but, there are some breed restrictions.  The campground provides BBQ's however, there are no fire rings.  Tent camp spots are not available at this location.  The park does have discounts for AARP, AAA, and Good Sam members.

The I-5 freeway runs past the front of the campground and the train tracks run past the back of the campground.  There is some noise from both.

The San Diego area has numerous attractions and sights including Mission Bay, Beaches, Sea World, Old Town, Downtown San Diego, San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, and numerous others.
