Santa Barbara Island Campground lies much further south than the other four Channel Islands and is the smallest, measuring just one square mile. The island is adored by sea birds as well as campers looking for a peaceful island getaway.
Only the Channel Island National Park Information Center is accessible by vehicle. All campgrounds are on islands without vehicle access. There are several boat charter services in the area of the information center. There are five islands in the Channel Island chain of islands. Camping is available year round on all five islands. Camping is by reservation only.
All campgrounds have vault toilets and picnic tables. All camping is primitive tenting only. There are 10 tent camp spots available. Pack it it, pack it out. No water available except on Santa Cruz Island.
Camp fires and charcoal fires are not allowed.
Everything on the islands is protected. do not feed, collect, disturb, or harm park wildlife.
Online reservations are available at www.recreation.gov or through www.reserveamerica.com. Campbase recommends arranging transportation to the island prior to obtaining campground reservations.
