Description

Oregon, Salmon Harbor RV Resort has easy access from Highway-101.

Directions:

From downtown Winchester Bay go North on Highway-101 for just a few blocks and the campground entrance will be on the right side.

Salmon Harbor RV Resort is open all year with approximately 60 RV only camp spots.  Campbase estimates that big rigs up to approximately 45 feet can be accommodated.  Extended stay is also available.  The resort is in a good general location but, does not have direct access into the bay or sand dunes.  Off-roaders use campgrounds that are closer to the dunes.  The campground is located near the downtown area where you can easily walk to restaurants and shops.  Camp roads and pads are all crushed rock.  Propane is available in the campground.  Limited shade. 

This campground does have mosquitoes.  Depending on the time of year, they can be quite a nuisance.  Campbase recommends a mosquito mesh hat, insect repellent, and a mosquito net awning to sit in.  If mosquitoes bother you, these items are essential for this location. 

Local Recreation:

The campground is located Approximately one mile from Umpqua Beach.  Umpqua Beach is a large wide sand beach, perfect for beachcombing.  Driftwood washes up on the sand.  Please see our photos tab for pictures.  

Oregon Sand Dunes National Recreation Area is located approximately one mile from the resort.  Please see our photos tab for pictures of the sand dunes. 

Umpqua River Lighthouse is located near the campground.  There is a small museum there with some exhibits to look through.

Winchester Point and the Umpqua River is located just a short distance from the campground.  The Salmon Harbor Marina has a launch ramp and boat slips available.  Fishing is the most popular activity from this location.  Charter boats are available
