California, Rancho Oso RV Resort and Campground

Directions:

From Santa Barbara, take highway 154 and go Northbound for approximately 10 miles to Paradise Road and go right.  Travel out paradise road for approximately four miles and Paradise road will split left and right.  Take the right branch and you will see the campground sigh there.  Travel an additional 1.1 miles to the parks entrance.  The entrance road is narrow and winding but, passable by large RV's.

Rancho Oso RV Resort and Campground is a Thousand Trails, member based campground.  It is not necessary to be a member in order to camp at this location.  The resort has a lodge, cabins, tenting and RV camp spots.  Just about every kind of accommodation is available.  The park also has numerous corrals and barns.  Equestrian activities are popular at the park. Direct access to the Santa Ynez River is available however, the river is dry most of the year.  The park is located in a quiet area far from noise and city lights.  Its a great location for star gazing.  There are no services or fuel available near the campground.  The park has two pools for the family to cool off.  There is also a playground. 

Recreation in the Area:

Horsebacking and hiking are popular from this park.

Nearby is Lake Cachuma.  This is a large lake with fishing and boating available.  Body contact with lake water is not allowed.

Downtown Santa Barbara is just 15 miles from the park.  Its a great spot to spend the day with restaurants, beaches and piers.

Chumash Casino and resort is located approximately 10 miles to the West.

The small dutch town of Solvang is also located 10 miles to the west and is a great location for bakeries and restaurants.
