Description

California, Prosser Family Campground Tahoe Natinal Forest.  The campground is located on The Prosser Reservoir.  There is no address or street naming near the campground.  

Directions:

From Truckee, take Interstate 80 to Highway 89.  On Highway 89 travel north for about 5 miles.  Look for the Prosser sign on the right side of the highway.  Turn in there, continue just over a mile to the campground, there will be another campground sign.

Prosser Family Campground, Tahoe Natinal Forest.  This campground is seasional opening in May and closing in October.  The campground is located at Prosser Creek Reservoir.  However, camp spots do not have direct water access.  Only one or two camp spots have a lake view.  The campground is nestled in a pine forest with most spots having shade trees.  Camp roads and pads are crushed rock.  Just 29 RV or tent camp spots are available.  Dry camping, no hookups.  Vault toilets and drinking water are available.  Camp sites have a picnic table, BBQ, and fire ring.  Please store your food properly, there are bears in the area.  Some of the camp spots are as large as 60 feet.  However, due to camp roads and overhangs, Campbase recommends nothing larger than 40 feet.  

There is a Prosser Lake launch ramp just a few blocks from the campground.  The lake has a 10 MPH speed limit.  Kayaking and fishing are popular.  

Signs posted at the campground indicate there is plague in the area.  It may be best to leave the pets home for this one.  

There is a 14 day maximum stay limit.
