Description

California,  Placerville RV Resort and Campground was formerly called the Placerville KOA.  

Directions:

From Shingle Springs head northeast on Highway-50.  After approximately one mile take the Shingle Springs Drive exit and go left  at the bottom of the off ramp.  Just after passing under the freeway take a left onto Rock Barn Road.  After approximately half a mile the road will deadend into the campground.

Comment

 Placerville RV Resort and Campground is open all year with tenting, cabins, and RV camp spots.  Its located in the Sierra foothills between Sacramento and South Lake Tahoe.  Pull through camp spots up to 121 feet are available.  Most services including fuel are available just one exit to the Southwest on Highway-50.  Most camp spots have shade trees, a picnic table, and a barbecue.  Its a good spot for kids with a swimming pool, playground, mini golf, and a fishing lake. 

Local Recreation:

The Red Hawk Casino is located one exit Northeast on Highway-50.  

There are also wineries in the area of the campground including the Thompsons Mine Camp Winery.
