Maine, Peaks-Kenny State Park. Roads into the park are rough in the short four miles from Dover-Foxcross into the campground. The campground also has approximately one mile of dirt road into the campground.
Directions:
From downtown Dover-Foxcroft go north on Highway-153 for approximately four miles. Just before getting to Sevec Lake, take a left turn onto State Park Road. Travel approximately one mile up State Park Road to the parks entrance.

Peaks-Kenny State Park is located on Sebec Lake with the campground of n the forest nearby. The campground does not have direct lake access. The park does have a nice recreation area and beach on the lake that is available to campers but must be driven to. The campground is seasional being open from May through October with RV and tent sites available. RV's up to 35 feet can be accommodated in some spots. There are also five sites that do have electric hookups. The only service available in the park is firewood. Outside the parks entrance is a small market(Park Grocery) with ice, food, and firewood. Propane is also available at the market. A marina and boat launch is also available on the lake near the parks entrance road. Boat slips are available there. Four miles from the park in downtown Dover-Foxcroft you will find markets, shops, and restaurants.
Depending on the time of year, many areas in Maine may have ticks, bees, and mosquitos. Due to the potential problems posed by these insects it's best to arrive prepared should these insects become a nuisance. Local Recreation:
Boating, kayaking, and fishing on Sebec Lake is popular from this campground. The lake is easily accessible through the state park or Merrills Marina nearby.
For a fun place to eat try Stutzman's Farmstand and Brick Oven Cafe. They have great meals, pizza and a bakery. Also, there is a vegetable stand there with fresh vegetables. It's located approximately six miles away on the other side of Dover-Foxcroft.
