Paradise Cove Campground, Sequoia National Forest.  There are two different types of camping areas at this campground.  Defined camp spaces are up near the highway, there are approximately 46 RV or tent camp spots in this area.  In addition, down near the waters edge open camping is available.  All camp spots have access to the water however, the defined spots are farther away. The campground is open all year.  RV hookups are not available anywhere in the park.  Tempratures reach into the 100's during the summer months.

Spots in the defined camping area are reservable through recreation.gov.  All unreserved spots in the upper area are first come, first served.  These camp spots have shade trees, paved roads, paved pads, picnic tables, fire rings, drinking water, restrooms, showers, and a dump station.  Shaded spots are only available in this area.  This area can accommodate big rigs up to around 40 feet+-.

Open camping is available near the water(when there is water).  Dirt roads down to the waters edge are not always in good condition.  There is no shade in this area and no camping amenities.  RV's can park right on the beach in this area.

During the Campbase visit in the fall of 2015 the area was experiencing an extreme drought.  The water level was so low that it no longer reached the campground.  In fact, water was not visible from the defined camping spots.  Please see the "Photos" tab.

Local Recreation:

Road touring and sightseeing are popular in Kernville and the Sequoia National Forest.

Boating and fishing on Lake Isabella.  Lake levels are low due to the California drought but, the fishing is still great.  With all the trees in the water, water skiing is not recommended.

The Kern River and Kernville are just a few miles from the campground.  Rafting, tubing, and fly fishing are popular in Kernville.  There are several adventure outfitters in town.  Fly fishing guides are also available.  Kernville also has several restaurants and souvenir shops.
