Description

California, Oak Grove Campground, Cleveland National Forest, is nestled in a valley of large oak groves and manzanita.

Direction:
From Interstate 15 take the 79 East. The campground is on the north side of the highway, across from the fire station. From Temecula, take State Rt. 79 southeast 24.1 miles and turn left at campground sign.

Oak Grove Campground,Cleveland National Forest. This attractive campground is comprised of chaparral vegetation such as Live Oaks and chamise.  It's a very nice campground in a quiet secluded location.  It's below Mount Palomar Obserbatory so evening star gazing is usually amazing.  It's hard to believe you can see so many stars.  Most camp spots do have shade.  Camp roads and parking pads are all paved.  The campground is open all year with tent and RV camp sites.  The RV length limit is 32 feet however, many camp spots are very deep.  A 35 foot RV will fit in many spots.

Camp spots are not reservable, first come, first served.  81 single camp spots and 12 double camp spots.

Use caution for mountain lions, rattle snakes, and poison oak.

Traffic travels fast on highway 79 so, use extreme caution when entering and exiting the highway.  This includes fast moving motorcycles.

There is a great community center beside the campground that is sometimes open for breakfast during the weekend.  It's quite nice.

The pay phone is across the highway at the ranger station.

No cellular service, no WiFi, no showers. No dump station.

Nearby Sunshine Summit has a market, restaurant, and hardware store.
