California, Lakeshore East Campground, National Recreation Area, Shasta/Trinity National Forest. 

Directions:

Southbound on Interstate-5 approaching Lake Shasta, look for the Lakeshore Drive Exit. (Exit 702) Go right at the bottom of the exit and then take a quick left turn onto Lakeshore Drive.  Follow Lakeshore Drive Southbound for approximately 1.5 miles and the campground entrance will be on the left side

Note:  You will see the Lakeshore Inn and RV park on the left side before the campground.  Not to be mistaken having similar names.

Lakeshore East Campground, National Recreation Area.  The campground is open all year with yurts, tenting, and RV camp spots.     23 total camp spots are available.  For reservations go to www.recreation.gov.  Walk-ins are also accepted.  The campground has direct Lake Shasta Access.  The path down to the water can bee steep depending on water levels.  The park does not have a boat ramp or boat dock.  Most camp spots are well shaded.  There are not many services near the campground because, this is a remote area.  Fuel can be found at the freeway exit located approximately one mile from the campground.  Campbase estimates that RV’s up to 35 feet can be accommodated in some camp spots.  Pets are allowed.  Snakes and bares do visit the campground so come prepared.  Across the highway at the Shasta Lake RV Resort you will find a small market with ice and firewood.
