Arizona, Kingman KOA Campground
Directions:
Comment
Kingman KOA Campground is open all year with cabins, tenting, and RV camp spots. There are 90 RV and tent camp spots available. The campground is located in a quiet section of Kingman. There are no fire rings however, each camp spot has a BBQ. There is a mini golf course that is fun for the kids and it even has lights for night games. The camp spots are level and most spots have some shade. Camp roads are crushed rock, smooth, and level. This is a really nice, well maintained KOA.
The restrooms, shower, and laundry room were very clean.
The camp store is well stocked.
The campground has 24 hour security, there is a picture under the photos tab. There is also video security.
Cellular service for most carriers is excellent. WiFi worked well.
There is FREE coffee every morning at the office.
The pool is seasonal and was not open during the Campbase visit. However, it is open during the summer months.
There are also extended stay mobile homes at this campground. The mobile home area is age qualified, 55+ only.
Area Recreation:
There is a Kingman Regional Transit system and the bus stops at the campground. Pick up a Riders Guide at the front desk. The bus leaves from the front of the campground at five(5) minutes after the hour, every hour. An all day pass is $5. The drivers are helpful with things to see and do in Kingman. It's a tour in itself.
Historic Downtown Kingman also has several things to see and do. It's a good place for a walk with all the shops and sights. Campbase likes the Redneck's Pit BBQ, it's good food with plenty of space to eat ( see the ads on the right side). In the same area are antique shops, The Powerhouse Museum, The Information Center, and The Mohave Museum of History and Art.
Route 66 road touring is popular in this area with roadside stops available along the route.
Kingman is a good place to bicycle with hundreds of quiet streets, bike paths, and bike trails. There is a paved bike path that is approximately three blocks to the west of the campground that is great for the family. Big tire bikes are recommended for this type of riding.
