Oregon, Kelly's RV Park 

Directions:

In the town of Empire at the corner of Newmark Avenue and Cape Arago Highway, go South on Cape Arago Highway.  After approximately me mile the campground will be on the left side.

Kelly's RV Park is open all year with 39 RV only camp spots.  This is an older established RV park with extended stay spots.  The park has monthly rates only.  Daily rates are not available It's also an "in-town" park so most services including fuel and markets are located nearby.  There is also an expresso bar located just across the highway.  The park is across the highway from Coos Bay but, does not have direct bay access.

This campground does have mosquitoes.  Depending on the time of year, they can be quite a nuisance.  Campbase recommends a mosquito mesh hat, insect repellent, and a mosquito net awning to sit in.  If mosquitoes bother you, these items are essential for this location. 

Local Recreation:

Off-roading into the Oregon Sand Dunes is by a popular activity near this location.  The dunes are spectacular with lakes and pine forests mixed in woodlands.  The dunes extend for 40 miles in this area. 

Horsebacking is popular from Horsfall Sand Dunes in the Oregon Sand Dunes National Recreation Area.  The area to the south of the parks entrance road(Horsfall Road) is restricted to Horsebacking only, no off-roading.

The national recreation area has a long sand beach with beach access.  The Horsfall Recreation Area Is a great spot for beachcombers.  

The Mill Casino is located approximately three miles from the park and is a large casino with approximately 800 slot machines.
