Local Recreation:

Take the car, hike, or bike through the Acadia National Park(ANP) and see all the wonderful sights.  Photography is very popular in this area.  You almost can't take a bad picture.  ANP has an extensive carriage trail system that is closed to all vehicles except bikes and horse drawn carriages.  Carriage rides on these trails are available in ANP.  It's also really a blast to take the mountain bike on the carriage trails.  From the trails there are great mountain and lake views.

Winter Harbor is a great place to explore with small shops and restaurants.  Campbase recommends walking or biking.  Campbase likes Chase's Restaurant for sea food in Winter Harbor.  They are on located on Main Street.

Bar Harber, on Mount Desert is another great destination.  It's quintessential Down East Maine.  A bit touristy but, quite a bit of fun with bars, hotels, restaurants and souvineer shops.   It's a must see on everyone's list.  The other section of Acadia National Park is also on Mount Desert Island.

Acadia Air Tours is another fun way to spend the day.  It's a blast, try the biplane.  They are located on the road to Bar Harbor at the Trenton Airport(Hancock County Bar Harbor Airport).  Call (207) 667-7627
