California, Hearst San Simeon State Park, San Simeon Creek Campground and Washburn Campground. 

Directions:

San Simeon State Park is located 35 miles north of San Luis Obispo on Highway 1, and 5 miles south of the Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument Visitor Center. The community of Cambria is located 2 miles to the South of the campground.

Hearst San Simeon State Park is a california secret.  It's not well know but, it is a nice place to camp.  The park is open all year with 115 tent spots, group spots, hiker biker spots and RV camp spots.  The city of Cabbria is two miles south and has gas stations and grocery stores.

The park actually has two campgrounds.  San Simeon Creek Campground and Washburn Campground combined have 166 RV and tent camp spots.  San Simeon Creak has paved roads and it's the closest to the beach.  It also has most of the amenities including wood, dump station, and outdoor theater. Washburn Campground is about a mile away from the beach and has dirt roads.  The dirt road to Washburn is only about 100 yards long before entering the campground.   Both campgrounds are dry camping.

Use caution in both campgrounds, there is poison oak in the area.

During the campbase visit in July 2014 there were water restrictions and all restrooms were closed.  Portable toilets were used to replace them.  Showers are only available when the restrooms are open.  Please see the photos tab.

Wood is available at the campground.  It's $10 for an entire wheel wheelbarrow.  Great deal, see the pics.

The maximum RV length is 35 feet.
