Description

Utah, Fruita Campground, Capitol Reef National Park. The parks Visitor Center is located at the junction of Utah Highway 24. The physical address is 16 Scenic Drive, Torrey UT 84775
 
Directions:
 
From the town of Torrey, Utah, travel six miles south on Highway 24 to the Capitol Reef National Park Visitors Center.  The Capitol Reef Visitor Center will be on the right .  At the information center, go right onto Campground Road.  Travel for approximately two miles and the campground will be on the left side.

Fruita Campground is open year-round with 71 RV and tent sites.  The campground is adjacent to the Fremont River.  Each camp site has a picnic table, fire ring, and BBQ.  Individual water, electric and sewer hook-ups are not available.  This is dry camping.  There is a RV dump and potable water fill station near the entrance to Loops A and B.  Restrooms have running water and flush toilets, but no showers.  Fruita Campground is the only developed campground in Capitol Reef National Park.  Adjacent to the campground is the Gifford House.  The Gifford House has a limited selection of food items and fire wood available for purchase.
Sites are first-come, first-served. Reservations are not accepted.  There is no cellular service available at the campground.  A pay phone is available at the campground entrance.  It's a bueatiful campground. 
 
The National Park is located in a semi-arid area.  Make sure you bring plenty of water.
 
A laundry, market, fuel, and showers are located five miles away I the town of Torrey.
