Oregon, Eel Creek Campground sits among coastal shrubbery on the edge of the sandy dunes in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Eel Creek attracts campers who plan to do more than off-road vehicle riding during their visit to the dunes. The campground is open all year with 53 RV or tent camp spots. Most spots have shade trees. Restrooms are available. RV hookups are not available, this is dry camping. A few large pull-a-round RV spots are available that can accommodate RV's to approximately 45 feet. Please note that Eel Campground is not on Eel Lake. William M. Tugman State Park Campground is on Eel Lake. Eel Creek Campground is located on Eel Creek. Services are available in nearby Winchester Bay where you will find markets and restaurants.
This campground does have mosquitoes. Depending on the time of year, they can be quite a nuisance. Campbase recommends a mosquito mesh hat, insect repellent, and a mosquito net awning to sit in. If mosquitoes bother you, these items are essential for this location.

The most popular activity from this campground is off-roading into the Oregon Sand Dunes National Recreation Area.
Highway-101 road touring is popular from this campground.
Eel Lake is nearby and is popular for fishing and kayaking. It's a small lake so larger boats are not recommended. The speed limit on the lake is 10 MPH.
The Umpqua Lighthouse is nearby and a popular location to visit. The Lighthouse was built in the 1800's. Please see our picture tab for a photo.
