Description

California, Costanoa KOA Campground is located on an isolated section of Highway 1 south of Half Moon Bay and across the highway from Año Nuevo State Park.

Directions:

Heading South on Highway 1
If you are traveling south on Highway 1, the last major town you will pass through is Half Moon Bay. At this point you are about 24 miles from Costanoa. 10.5 miles before you reach Costanoa you will see signs for the historic town of Pescadero. Do not turn, continue south on Highway 1. The next major landmark you will see is the majestic Pigeon Point Lighthouse. This distinctive structure is located on the ocean side of the highway and is clearly visible. As you drive past the lighthouse you are just 4 miles from reaching Costanoa. After passing a large grove of Eucalyptus trees on your left, watch for the Costanoa signs and the second lefthand turn lane from the highway. Turn left onto Rossi Road and proceed to the North Lodge on your right hand side of the road.

Comment

Santa Cruz North/Costanoa KOA is open all year with cabins, tenting, and RV sites.  There are approximately 130 camp spots.  Many camp spots have an ocean view.  The campground is NOT on the ocean side of Highway 1 however, there is an easy underpass under the highway for walkers and bikers to get down to the beach.  The campground has a small camp store that has all the necessities including wood and ice.  Many of the camp spots have shade trees.  There is a rock wall to climb and a bouncy ball during the weekends (please see the pics).

Cellular service in the area is limited.  A courtesy phone is available at the lodge.

Caution:  There are ticks and Poison Oak in the area of the campground.

Closest fuel is 24 miles away in Half Moon Bay.

There is a Spa at the campground.
