Convict Flat Campground, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park.

Comment

Convict Flat Campground is in Kings Canyon on the Kings River.  With just six campsites for tents or very small RV's, it's not a real popular spot.  Campbase recommends RV's no larger than 18 feet.  Campers to this area would be better served by camping at Morain Campground.   There are no services in the area near this campground, it's a remote area.  The Kings River is just 100 feet from the campground.  There is one vault toilet in the campground.

There is no cell service in the area of the campground however, there is a pay phone at Cedar Grove Village several miles away.   WiFi is also available at the Village.  A password is required. 
 
There are three gas stations in the National Park.  Kings Canyon Lodge, Hume Lake, and Stony Creek Village.  Diesel is available at the last two.  Campbase recommends filling your vehicles fuel tank before entering the National Park.
 
Dump stations are located at Potwisha, Lodgepole, Princess, and Dorst Creek campgrounds.  The closest to Convict Flat Campground is at Princess Campground, approximately 15 miles away. 
 
Bear boxes are provided in every campground in the park.  All food must be stored in these boxes unless it's kept out of sight in an RV.  Food may not be left out at any time.  Additional bear rules and information can be found at the restrooms.  Do not feed the bears at any time.
 
Getting an RV into the campground can be a bit challenging due to narrow, steep, and winding roads.  See the photos section for a picture of the narrow highway.   Make sure your vehicles brakes are in excellent working condition.  Campbase recommends RV's no longer than 30 feet in this area of the park.
