Description

Oregon, Charleston Marina RV Park.  The park is located at the marina, on the beach, in the town of Charleston.  Easy access to services.

Directions:

On Cape Arago Road in the town of Charleston, go northwest on Boat Basin Road.  In approximately two blocks, go right onto Kingfisher Road.  The RV Park will be on the left side in approximately two blocks.

Charleston Marina RV Park is open all year with 100 Tent, RV, and yerts.  The park is located right in the Charleston Marina where there is a boat launch and boat slips available.  The area is a classic Oregon fishing village.  A tackle shop is also available.  The park has full hooks and pull through camp sites available.  A few spots have shade trees but most do not.  Campbase estimates the campground can accommodate big rigs up to 45 feet in some spots.  All spots have a picnic table but no fire ring.  Well mannered pets were allowed in the park.  

Although this park is right on the ocean it can have mosquitoes.  Depending on the time of year, they can be quite a nuisance.  Campbase recommends a mosquito mesh hat, insect repellent, and a mosquito net awning to sit in.  If mosquitoes bother you, these items are essential for this location. 

Local Recreation:

Off-roading into the Oregon Sand Dunes is by a popular activity near this location.  The dunes are spectacular with lakes and pine forests mixed in woodlands.  The dunes extend for 40 miles in the area north of the park.  The Horsfall Recreation Area is the closest access point to this park located approximately 5 miles North on Highway-101.

Horsebacking is popular from Horsfall Sand Dunes in the Oregon Sand Dunes National Recreation Area.  The area to the south of the parks entrance road(Horsfall Road) is restricted to Horsebacking only, no off-roading.

The national recreation area has a long sand beach with beach access.  The Horsfall Recreation Area Is a great spot for beachcombers.  

The Mill Casino is located approximately three miles from the park and is a large casino with approximately 800 slot machines.  The Three Rivers Casino is closer to the campground but also a much smaller facility.
