Arizona, Catalina State Park Campground, Arizona State Parks. 

Directions:

From the intersection of Interstate-10 and Highway 77 in Tucson, Arizona.  Take Highway-77 north.  The state park entrance will be on the right side.  It's located 15 miles north of Tucson on Highway 77.  

Note:  The address used here is a general park address and not accurate for the campground.  However, the Campbase map provided here is accurate for the location of the campground.

Catalina State Park Campground has tent, group, and RV camp spots.  Electric and water RV camp spots are also available.  The campground is open all year.  The busy season is October through April.  Summer tempratures tend to be extremely hot.  There are two RV dump stations available in the park.  The dump stations are free for registered campers.  There is a $15 per vehicle dumping fee for non-registered campers.  There are approximately 113 camp spots in this area.  A limited number of these spots are water and electric camp spots.  All other camp spots are dry camping.  Fire rings are not available and wood burning is not allowed.  Popular activities from this campground are HorsebackIng and hiking.  There are several nature trails available.  The campground is in a remote area however, it's not more than just a few miles from fuel, markets, and restaurants.

The Pima Air and Space Museum is one of those must-see museums.  It's located at 6000 E. Valencia Blve. Tucson.  (520) 574-0462.  Www.pimaair.org.   The Pima Air and Space Museum also offers exclusive bus tours of the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center (AMARG), also known as the "Boneyard." The AMAGR is located adjacent to the Museum.  Bus tours of the facility are available on a "first come first serve" basis.  The tour bus boards at the Museum entrance.
 
The Loop bike trail loops through Tucson and is a good way to get around by bike.  It's a bike and walk trail.  Here is a link to The Loop.
