California, Camp Shelly, Lake Tahoe Basin.  The campground does not have an address.  

Directions:

From downtown South Lake Tahoe, take Highway-89 north.  In approxmitely three miles you will pass Camp Richardson Resort.  Continue for a short distance and take a left onto Mt. Tallac Road.  Follow the signs from there into the campground.  If you get to Emerald Bay on Highway-89, you have gone to far.

Camp Shelly, Lake Tahoe Basin, is seasional being open from June 19, 2015 - September 8, 2015.  Primarily a tenting campground however, RV's up to 22 feet can be accommodated.  The campground does not have a Lake Tahoe view or access.  Camp Shelly is a small campground with approximately 35 camp spots.  There are no services near the campground.  Downtown South Lake Tahoe is approximately 7 miles from the campground.  The campground is a bit secluded but, there's a lots to do within a 10 mile radius. There are bears in the area near the campground and bear boxes are provided.  There is plague in the area so, it's best to leave your pets at home.  

Local Recreation:

There is just about everything you could imagine to do in the area near the campground.

There is an extensive and paved bike path that leads along Highway-89 and into the beautiful national forest.  Its quite a nice bike path and suitable for all ages.  Bikes can be rented at the Camp Richardson bike shop.  

The Camp Richardson Corrals and Pack Station is located at the resort.  Public riding is available. 

The Camp Richardson Marina on Lake Tahoe offers a boat dock, slips, boat rentals and much more.  There is a beautiful beach at the marina so its a great place to spend the day.

The Nevada gaming casinos are just across the state line in South Lake Tahoe.  Its approximately 10 miles away
