California, Camp James Campground is located near downtown Kernville.

Directions:

From the intersection of Sierra Way and Kernville Road in downtown Kernville, take Sierra Way North for approximately one mile.  The campground will be on the left side of Sierra Way.

Camp James Campground is open all year with cabins, tenting, and RV camp spots.  Some camp spots are located right on the Kern River.  The campground has approximately 71 RV camp spots.  It's actually one of the nicer campgrounds in the ares, especially for RV's.  Full hookups are available.  Most camp spots have shade trees.  Each spot has a picnic table and fire ring.  The restrooms and showers are very clean.  There is a small camp store that has ice, firewood and ATM machine.  It's just a short walk into town from the campground.  The campground has security gate access.
