Description

California, Camp High Sierra, City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks.  The park is located in downtown Mammoth Lakes.  Relatively easy access for Big Rigs. 

Directions:

Proceed north on highway 395 past the Mammoth Airport.  Exit the highway at highway 203, also called Main Street in Mammoth Lakes.  Proceed up Main Street to Minaret Road there the street takes a slight turn to the left and changes the street name to Lake Mary Road.  Proceed approximately one mile and go left onto Kelly Road.  Follow Kelly Road around for just a few blocks and take a right onto Majestic Pines Drive. The campground entrance will be on the right side in under one block.  Note, there may be two different entrances.

Camp High Sierra.  The campground is seasonal and only open during the summer months.  There are 42 total camp spots.  Tent, and RV spots are available.  Camping cabins are also available.  The campground elevation is 8400', so it's high in the mountains.  So don't do strenuous activities on your first day in this area.  Maximum RV length is 32 feet however, Campbase estimates that big rigs to 40 feet may fit in some sites.  This is an active bear area, secure your food properly.  All camp spots have large shade trees.  Firewood is available from the campgrounds office.
