California, Camp 9 Recreation Area Campground, Sequoia National Forest. 

Directions:

From downtown Kernville, take the Sierra Way south.  Go south for approximately 4 miles.  The campground entrance will be on the right.  There is a short campground entrance road.

Camp 9 Recreation Area Campground is open from April through October on Lake Isabella.  The campground has 109 tent and RV camp spots.  11 group sites are also available.  The campground does not have shade spots or full hookups.  Paved roads, paved pads, water, and a dump station is available.  Portable toilets are also available.  Due to the California drought the campground is no longer on the waters of Lake Isabella.  Most camp spots are large and big rigs can be accommodated.  Camp spots are all first-come, first-served.  There is a fee payment box at the entrance to the campground. 

ATV's are not allowed anywhere around Lake Isabella.
