Description

New Mexico, Caballo Lake State Park.  The park has easy access from Interstate-25.

Directions:

Located just one mile from Interstate-25.  From Interstate-25 take exit 59 onto US Highway-187.  Go North for just under a mile and the campground entrance will be on the right side.

Caballo Lake State Park is open all year with six different camping areas available.  The following four camping areas are accessible through the main entrance gate: Upper Flats Beach Camping, Palomino Area, Appaloosa,Area, and the Stallion Area.  These four camping areas are described on this page.  Please see the "Photos" tab for pictures of these campging areas.  Primitive, electric only, and full hookup sites are available.  Restrooms with showers are located in the campgrounds.  Each camp spot has a picnic table and fire ring.  Most camp spots also have a shade awning.  All campgrounds have access to Caballo Lake and there is also a boat launch ramp.  Sites are reservable through the New Mexico State Park website provided here.  Or by calling (575) 743-3942.  Big rigs to approximately 45 feet can be accommodated in some spots.
