Directions:

Take Hwy 89 north from South Lake Tahoe approximately 8 miles to the Bayview Campground located across from Inspiration Point.

Bayview Campground features 13 RV and tent camp spots.  Small RV's no larger than 20 feet only.  All camp spots are first-come, first-served.  The campground is in a unique location at 7,000 feet near the Emerald Bay overlook on Lake Tahoe.  The area is remote, rigged, wild, and natural.  The amazing scenic beauty makes it a photographers dream.  There are no services near the campground.  The camground has vault toilets but no drinking water.  Camp roads and parking pads are all paved.  Bears do frequent the area so store all food properly.  There are plague warnings posted at the campground so it might be best to leave the pets at home for this one. 

Local Recreation:

There is just about everything you could imagine to do in the area near the campground.  Emerald Bay and beach access are just a short distance north on highway-89.  

There is an extensive and paved bike path near the campground that leads towards South Lake Tahoe.  Its quite a nice bike path and suitable for all ages.  Bikes can be rented at the Camp Richardson bike shop.  

The Camp Richardson Corrals and Pack Station is located approximately 5 miles south.  Public riding is available. 

The Camp Richardson Marina on Lake Tahoe offers a boat dock, slips, boat rentals and much more.  There is a beautiful beach at the marina so its a great place to spend the day.

The Nevada gaming casinos are just across the state line in South Lake Tahoe.  Its approximately 10 miles away.
