Directions:

Situated at the head of Mount Desert Island and the intersection of Rt 3, Rt 102 and County Rd.  Follow Rt 1A to Ellsworth and Rt 3 toward Bar Harbor on Mount Desert Island. Crossing onto the island, keep to the right and turn right at the first
intersection, County Rd.  The campground will be on the right.

Bar Harbor Oceanside KOA is open from May through October.  The campground has cabins, tenting, and RV camp sites.  The campground also has Airstream Camper Rentals.  There is a Acadia National Park bus stop at the front of the campground.  The bus is free with a National Park pass and it takes campers to all points on Mount Desert Island.  Several campgrond camp spots are right on the bay.  Many camp spots have shade but, not all. 
 
The campground is usually completely full during the summer months.  Check the website provided here for reservation information. 
 
Oceanside KOA is in a great location for accessing Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.  Leave the RV in the campground and let the park shuttle take you there.  There is also the Park Loop Highway for auto touring in Acadia National Park.  Acadia National Park also has an extensive network or carriage trails for hiking and biking.  It shouldn't be missed. 
 
The campground rents kayaks and bicycles.  Kayaks can be launched from the campground.
 
Campground roads are all paved while camp spots are crushed rock.  Most camp spots are level.  Large RV's can be accommodated.  
 
Depending on the time of year, many areas in Maine may have ticksbees, and mosquitos.  Due to the potential problems posed by these insects it's best to arrive prepared should these insects become a nuisance.  Campbase recommends screen enclosuresrepellantsbug zappers, and mesh net hats.  Please click these links to see our recommended items. 
 
Local Recreation:
 
The Down East Sunrise Trail ends in Ellsworth near the campground.  It's a multi-use trail for hiking, biking, and off-roading.  Get your mountain bike and ride.  It's 95 miles through an amazing wilderness.
