Directions:

From Blairsville, GA: Take 76 East through the town of Hiawassee (MAKE SURE YOU GO THROUGH THE TOWN OF HIAWASSEE). On the ouside of town you will see Route 288 on the right. (You will see Rt 288 before you get into Hiawassee but do NOT take this one.)  Turn right on the 2nd 288 and make the first (immediate) left onto Fodder Creek Road. Follow Fodder Creek Road 3-1/2 miles, turn left onto Gander Gap Road. The Office will be over the hill on the left.

Bald Mountain Camping Resort closes Saturday, November, 1 Reopens Wednesday, April 1.  The campground is seasonal with 293 total camp spots.  Pull throughs and 50amp sites are available.  Big rigs are ok.  Cabins, tent, and RV camp spots are available.

Bears are active in the area of the campground.

Use caution for poison snakes.
