Description
South Dakota, Badlands National Park
Comment
Badlands National Park is one all year. The national park has a lodge and two campgrounds. Cedar Pass Lodge is the only lodge in the park. The two campgrounds are Cedar Pass Campground and Sage Creek Primitive Campground. Cedar Pass Campground is managed by Cedar Pass Lodge. It's located near the eastern entrance to the park and the Ben Reifel Visitors Center on Highway 377. There are 96 camp spots available. Hookups are available at this campground. The campground is first come, first served. Most camp spots here are "pull-a-round" spots that can accommodate the larger RV's.
Sage Creek Campground is operated on a first come, first serve basis. The camp spots at Sage Creek Campground are primitive. Sage Creek Campground is remote and may not be accessible during the winter due to road conditions. The road to the campground is unpaved and not recommended for large RV's.
Four group camp spots are also available. Advance reservations for group camping are required and can be made by contacting the Cedar Pass Lodge online or by phone at 605-433-5460.
The national park has two visitors centers. Ben Reifel Visitors Center is located on the eastern side of the park near the intersection of highway 377 and Badlands Loop Road.
