The campground is located 11 miles north of West Branch via South Fairview Road and Houghton Creek Road.

Ambrose Lake State Forest Campground is open all year with 25 RV or tent camp spots. The campground has a launch ramp and direct Ambros Lake access. Camp spots are large and shaded. Two sites are wheel chair accessable. Campground roads and parking pads are all crushed rock. Camp spots are all first-come, first-served. Reservations are not available.
