Abbott Campground, Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest is a primitive non-reservation campground composed of 7 units located on the South Fork of the Boise River. Campground amenities include toilets. Canoeing, tubing, and fishing are popular activities.  This remote and picturesque campground in the midst of old growth forest runs along Abbott Creek but is within walking distance to many other creeks and rivers, including the Woodruff Creek and the Rogue River. Quiet and secluded campsites, there are many group sites for family and friends. Amazing fishing locations, there are many hiking trails with easy access. Sites to see include Rogue Gorge and Natural Bridge.  The sites in this campground are located along Abbot Creek.  There is easy access to an extensive OHV trail system nearby at Woodruff OHV Play Area.  The Upper Rogue River Trail may be accessed nearby at the Upper Rogue River - Woodruff Bridge Trailhead.

 

This campground does have mosquitoes.  Depending on the time of year, they can be quite a nuisance.  Campbase recommends a mosquito mesh hat, insect repellent, and a mosquito net awning to sit in.  If mosquitoes bother you, these items are essential for this location.
